The Card

Let me tell you about a card....it's a wonderful card....Though it has few uses...The ones it has, are beautiful. It is not a credit card, by all means, it is so much better. It opens a doorway to a whole new world, many worlds actually. I was blessed with my card last year, and the world looks brighter still. Since then I have travelled all the way to Scotland, and France, and further still, all through the power of the card (Angels singing) It's name is actually very simple, though before I tell you, I just want to know....did you guess it before? Kt don't answer that! IT'S A LIBRARY CARD! Quite evident from the theme of the blog.....Maybe a little bit exaggerated, but oh well. The library is awesome! Yeah I know me saying that probably labels me as a complete dork, but I don't care. Some people have an obsession with music(coughcough Kt) But I have one with books.

Jane Austen

I love Jane Austen! I have read all of her novels, and they are amazing! Well except for Mansfield Park....Lets just say BORING! I thought it would never end! Like five hundred pages of AHHHH! But besides that one, all her books are great! My personal favorite is either Pride And Prejudice or Emma . I think the fact that eight-year-olds have a better vocabulary than me, and use it in the proper sentences, is hilarious. I love how you can feel what she is feeling,and experienced, through her books. And if you're a hopeless romantic like I am, then Mr. Darcy will be your hero. And now to end my rambling I shall put a few of my favorite words from the books on here. The first being Non-Sensical, and secondly Stupefied...I really don't know why, I just do.

The Hunger Games

Okay there's this book I really want to read, it' called The Hunger Games and since I really don't know everything about it here's what is on the back:

Inkheart, Inkspell, Inkdeath

Next is a book called Inkheart, it is about this guy, named Mo, who can read things out of books, and his daughter, Meggie, who knows nothing of his power. One night when Meggie was really little Mo was reading aloud to his wife and Meggie, an evil villain named Capricorn escapes from the pages, and is free in the real world. That book was Inkheart....So alot happens in the next two books....yes there's three, all packed with awesomeness. I have read these books over and over, and am aching to read them again, that's how good they are!

BOOKS!!!!

If you haven't noticed, I Love books, as I have said before, books are my escape, no matter what I may be going through, or whatever is happening, I can transfer myself into another place, I can slay the dragon, or anything I want to do, all without leaving my seat. And my plan is to post the books I love and/or the books I want to read on here. So I am going to start with the book I am actually reading right now: In The Shadow Of The Sun King which is about...well a lot of things, there is this family of Huguenots that is being persecuted by the King. It's time period is the seventeenth century, in France. It is a two part series(I'm in the second), that is totally a book for the hopeless romantics like me.

The Mayor Of Casterbridge

This is the first post, so I'll explain. I LOVE books, my day would be so empty without them. I love the smell of old books, and the feel of new ones...BOOKS!!...Okay I'll simmer down a bit because you're new, and tell you about the book I just finished reading, The Mayor Of Casterbridge, I admit I wasn't very optimistic, but as soon as I got in to it, I loved it!!! It was written by Thomas Hardy in 1886, and is way funnier than it should be! It is about this merchant named Michael Henchard, who after drinking more than he should at a country fair, sells his wife and daughter. He searches for years to find them, but to no avail. When about eighteen years had passed, the man who was taking care of Susan(the wife) and Elizabeth-Jane(the daughter) died, they went on their way to try and find him. Upon finding him, they learn that he has made himself the Mayor of Casterbridge!....This book is filled with twist and turns. It is hilarious! I mean, I'm not giving away the ending but someone dies of an anxiety attack!!! Isn't that awesome? And even though I only read it because I'm taking British Literature, I loved it, and it is totally a book anyone should read.
